The Browser Company will shut down Arc for macOS and Windows on December 22, 2026. Its farewell notice says the browser will stop working on that date and users will no longer be able to sign in.

New account creation ended on October 22. Existing users can continue using Arc, with basic updates, until the shutdown.

Move your data before the deadline

The company is directing users toward Dia, its replacement browser, which supports importing Arc data including passwords, history, tabs, and extensions.

Users choosing another browser can export their Arc tabs as a list of links before December 22. That export should not be mistaken for a complete transfer of every kind of browser data.

For anyone who uses Arc as a daily workspace, the deadline makes migration a practical task: preserve important tabs, check what the destination browser imports, and confirm access to essential sites before Arc closes.
