Blacksmith has raised a $66 million Series C led by Sequoia Capital at a $1 billion valuation. The round brings its total funding to $125 million, with participation from Premji Invest and existing investors Peak XV Partners, GV, and Y Combinator.

The company provides infrastructure for running continuous-integration workloads, including GitHub Actions jobs. Teams can use Blacksmith’s runners while retaining GitHub Actions workflows.

More code puts pressure on CI

Blacksmith’s pitch is that faster code generation increases demand for the systems that build and test it.

The company says its weekly job volume has grown from five million in January to more than 90 million. Those figures are company-reported, rather than independently audited here.

Where the funding goes

Blacksmith says the capital will support hiring and expansion of its compute footprint. It currently manages just under 10 megawatts across data centers in the United States and Europe and plans to increase that footprint fivefold in 2027.

For engineering teams, the relevant distinction is between writing code faster and verifying it faster. Blacksmith is betting that build capacity, reliable execution, and operational visibility become more valuable as the volume of proposed changes grows.
